Emotional Healing therapy is not easily described in general statements. It varies depending on personalities and the particular problems you bring forward. There are many different methods I may use to deal with the problems that you hope to address. Emotional Healing therapy is not like a medical doctor visit. Instead, it calls for a very active effort on your part. In order for the sessions to be most successful, you will have to work on things we talk about both during our sessions and at home.
Emotional Healing can have benefits and risks. Working toward the benefits requires your active involvement, honesty, and openness. I will ask for your feedback and views on your therapy, its progress, and other aspects of the therapy and will expect you to respond openly and honestly. Since therapy often involves remembering and discussing unpleasant aspects of your life, you may experience considerable discomfort or strong feelings of sadness, guilt, anger, shame, frustration, loneliness, and helplessness that may affect all areas of your life. I will challenge some of your assumptions or perceptions or propose different ways of looking at, thinking about, or handling situations that might cause you to feel upset, angry, depressed, challenged, or disappointed. Attempting to resolve issues that brought you to therapy in the first place, such as personal or interpersonal relationships, may result in changes that were not originally intended. Because of my theoretical orientation I conceptualize psychological issues as the product of interpersonal relating and larger systemic family issues. Emotional Healing therapy may result in decisions about changing behaviors, employment, substance use, schooling, housing, or relationships. Sometimes a decision that is positive for one family member is viewed quite negatively by another family member. Change will sometimes be easy and swift, but more often it will be slow and even frustrating. There is no guarantee that Emotional Healing will yield positive or intended results. However, therapy often leads to better relationships, solutions to specific problems, and significant reductions in feelings of distress. You have the right to ask about other treatments (including no treatment) for your condition and their risks and benefits.
I require a 48 hour notice for all cancellations. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please inform me at least 48 hours in advance. If you cancel within the 48 hour time limit, you will be charged in full for the scheduled service. This policy allows me to fill the appointment time and minimizes the impact on my business, and other clients. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in adhering to my cancellation policy. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
